Harshdeep Kaur is a young versatile Indian playback singer known for her soulful Sufi singing. Who can forget her heart rending Ik On’kār in the 2006-released super hit Hindi movie Rang De Basanti, Katiya Karun from Rockstar and Heer from Jab Tak Hai Jaan. She has already made her mark with super hit songs like Jugni from Cocktail, Jhak maarke from Desi Boys, Luni Hasi from Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana,Kabira from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and many more.
Music came as a legacy to Harshdeep from her father Savinder Singh Sohal, who owns a musical instruments factory named House of Music. Harshdeep says, “Music is like oxygen to me. The more I inhale it, the more I feel alive”. Mentored by her father she received professional training in Indian classical music from Sri Tejpal Singh. And acquired Western classical music training from Delhi Music Theatre and learned to play piano from Delhi School of Music.
Harshdeep recorded her first solo album Romantica at the tender age of 14, when she won the MTV Video Gaga Contest. During the same time, she also recorded a playback song titled Sajna Main Haari for the film Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai. Currently working with top composers and music directors of India, Harshdeep recorded R.I.P. for Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle’s film 127 Hours, under the music direction of AR Rahman.

Featured in Coke Studio India in 2011 & 2012 Harshdeep Kaur was titled Sufi Sultana by legendry actor and host Amitabh Bacchan.
Canadian Audience saw her at AR Rahman’s Jai Ho World Tour and now Harshdeep makes a full concert appearance for Mosaic festival. Hashdeep has selected some of her top Bollywood hits and a selection of Sufi songs. She is paying a special tribute to Madam Noorjahan, the great playback singer from Subcontinent with a unique selection of medley of her songs.
