Punjabi singer Preet Brar, who was absconding since last month after being booked in a land fraud case, has been arrested by the Mumbaipolice while he was trying to flee abroad on Friday.
The SAS Nagar police had issued a lookout notice against the singer after he and his non-resident Indian (NRI) brother Amritpal Singh Brar were booked in a Rs. 51-lakh fraud case at the Phase-8 police station in August.
Complainants Ramandeep Singh, Amritpal Singh, Inderjit Singh and Bhupinder Singh had alleged that Preet Brar and his brother took earnest money of Rs. 51 lakh for agricultural land in Kharar in March 2011, which they never owned.
